13th of July, Friday. After last week’s experience on shooting stars, tonight I decided to go somewhere far away from city: Trillium Lake. 🙂 It’s almost a 2hour drive from my house, but since the weather is so nice, I should be able to get some good shots there.
When I reached there, it’s around 9.30pm. The sun just set off not long ago, so the surroundings are still quite bright. I walked around for awhile to find a good spot, and then setup my stuff. While I was setting up my stuff, there was one guy approaches me and asking am I going to stay there for stars shooting. I was so surprised to meet someone who also planned to do that as well. His name is Don, he is really a pro, just visited his website, a lot of great photos there. In fact, when we were shooting the stars, around 12am, came another guy from Salem, he was planning to shoot star trails. What a happening night here at Trillium Lake, I met two guys from different places, all came here for Astrophotography. I think I’d been lucky to be able to learn some tips from these pros. 🙂
Anyway, the skies up there was really crazy. With the elevation of 3600 feet at Trillium Lake, you can see a lot of stars. Gazing at the stars will only make you feel how small you are in this world, and yet God created all these for us. It’s really amazing. Too bad I don’t have my PC with me right now, I can’t process most of the photos, especially for timelapse. Here are some sneak previews though: 🙂
