Foggy Night with Chang’s Mongolian

Written by CooKies™ on. Posted in Food

12th November 2010, Friday. It was a foggy night. Everyone was going home early today.

By the time of 5pm, office was almost empty. We also went home and prepared for tonight’s appointment with another colleague who was here for 1 week on business trip. He was going back on the next day, so that was the last night that we can meet together for a dinner. And, this is the place that he suggested for dinner: Chang’s Mongolian Grill.

Well, it was a great experience trying this Mongolian grill since I’d never heard nor try it before. It’s actually like a buffet meal, which you get to choose the ingredients that you like, got veges, seafoods, meats, porks, beefs and so on, then you also get to mix your own sauces, and then queue up for the grills!

Here you can see the chefs are busy stirring and grilling the foods for you. They actually followed the sequence in such a way that they won’t mixed up your foods. It took around 5-10mins only for each grill. So, they’re actually quite efficient. 🙂

Tada~, here’s my ‘product’. It taste good! Well, I must say good since it’s me that mixed the sauces. 😛 The taste is very much depending on how you mix the sauces since the chefs will not add in anything for you. So, it’s all controlled by yourself on the taste.

Yea, my colleague ordered a bottle of wine for us. Quite nice, though I wasn’t able to finish it because of being too full after the 2nd round of grills. +.+ Some more they served you an ice-cream and also fortune cookies after that. Phew, really full to the mouth, full until tomorrow’s evening…hahahaha…

Well, as for the price, it’s $12.25 for dinner. Pretty standard for a buffet, and it’s cheap for those who can eat alot. 😛 However, tonight’s bill was actually paid by our colleague, KL. He insisted to treat us though we want to pay it our own. Thanks to him for treating us such a good meal. 🙂 And, we promised to treat him back in Penang, perhaps in our PG12 cafeteria. 😛

One day, CooKies received an assignment to make the best peanut butter in the world. Hence, he decided to runaway to this place: Hillsboro, OREGON in US, for an estimated of 365days to complete his assignment. There are a lot of tough nuts over there, but he believes that: "Tough nuts always make the best peanut butter!" :)
